All right all you stubborn "goat" (couldn't help myself) ladies!!! The time is now to listen up and save some dough. How much are you spending to remove facial hair?? DO the math..way too much! Now, please don't get me wrong I respect my fellow Esti's out there paying their bills by waxing and threading but when it comes to the affairs of the face you can't go wrong with an old fashioned blade. Yes, I said it..an old school razor blade! Those baby-fine vellus hairs don't stand a chance!!!!  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vellus_hairYou watch your husband or significant other shave so why not take Nike's "Just Do It" slogan to a whole new level?? I am a big believer in what I call "set up for success" so as always I will.

My favorite blades out there are called Harry's. https://www.harrys.com/our-story Great story and even better blades at a FANTASTIC price. A business that not only gives back and offers a badass product is my kinda people! Their 1 + 1 way of paying it forward inspires me to do the same with my future endeavors. Start small...aim big will become my new motto. Check them out and I promise you won't be disappointed. Even better, I just saw them being sold at Target!!! Now, if I could only get them to make the Truman set https://www.harrys.com/products/the-truman-set?h_id=494&h_position=0&h_list=starter-sets in more feminine colors. I'll email them this post and see what they say...never hurts to ask!

So you use your retinol or glycolic ((AKA, topical exfoliants) all over that pretty face of yours to delay the aging process and or to prevent acne. When used on a daily basis these topical exfoliants could lead to dry, scaly or even, hot pink irritated skin. No good looking girl or guy wants that but.. you desire smaller pores, less wrinkled skin and let's be honest NO ZITS! So in a world that drives us to think more is better we end up overusing these products.

Earlier this week I experienced a light bulb moment while in a treatment room with a client. She struggles with sebaceous hyperplasia  http://www.skinmds.com/skin-disorders/sabeceous.htm We have almost won the war but she has a few stubborn ones hanging on. Since retinol is known for decreasing oil production and encourages the release of dead skin cells she naturally wants to use it every night. Unfortunately, she can't because it leaves her shedding like a snake. So this is when my light bulb went off...SPOT TREAT!!! I advised her to take a q-tip and dot a small amount of retinol on the sebaceous hyperplasia. This way even on the nights she's not treating the entire face she is still actively going after her area of concern. No excessive irritation but target driven corrective treatment...Woohoo!!

So if you are struggling with blackheads on the nose don't hesitate to use your favorite exfoliant of choice every night on the particular area. JUST BE SMART...if the area becomes overly irritated STOP temporarily. My philosophy is slow and progressive. It's always better than fast and furious when it comes to skincare. Now get out there and go OWN your beautiful...

NSAIDS, such as ibuprofen, blood pressure medication, birth control pills and hormones for menopausal symptoms can all be triggers for those of us who suffer from the chronic condition melasma.
