Clients seem confused as to why professional skincare specialist frown upon laser and chemical peel treatments during the summer months? I spend over 50% of my day speaking on this subject alone. As a dedicated professional I enjoy educating but I’ll be very honest, the frustration is real!! In this blog, I will break it down into bite size pieces.

#1 Sun is our enemy. It breaks down collagen, elastin and causes those brown spots you are wanting to get rid of.

#2 Heat from either the sun or by elevating body temperature can cause adverse reactions post procedure. Please listen when your skin care professional encourages sun avoidance post treatment.

#3 There is nothing permanent when it comes to wrinkle and brown spot removal. The damage has been done. Wearing sunscreen can only prevent future aging.

#4 Post procedure outcome is up to you. Pre and post care products are essential. Don’t be cheap.

Think of it this way... you do the bulk of your damage during the summer months and you take it off during the winter months. Easy as that!
